What is pulse oximetry?
Pulse oximetry is a useful method of monitoring patients in many circumstances, and in the face of limited resources, the pulse oximeter may represent a wise choice of monitor, as with training it allows for the assessment of several different patient parameters.
What is SpO2?
SpO2 means, that the oxygen saturation levels are being measured repeatedly, every few milliseconds.
Each measure gives a Spot-like image of current oxygen saturation level.
How does the PULOX2000 operate?
The Oximeter works according to Lambert Beer Law: The PULOX2000 omits a near-infrared pulse (a 660nm ray and 940nm near-infrared ray). The light passes through the skin, "hits" red blood cells, and is partially absorbed. The part which isn't absorbed is picked up by the photoelectric sensor, and being analyzed. The analysis is calculated according to the hemoglobin (R Hb) and Oxyhemoglobin (02 Hb) reflectance factor. Reflectance factor, is an index that shows the exact amount and length of light that a substance will absorb, when it is being "hit" by a certain wavelength of light.
What is the normal range for each PULOX2000 pulse oximeter display?
Individual normal range should be defined by your physician.
Can I put it on wet (or bloody) finger?
